Holiday at Sri Lanka!

HELLO EVERYONE!!!

Happy Holidaysssssss!!!!!!

I'm back from my own holiday and i'm feeling sooooo refreshed!
I went to Sri Lanka with my Mummy and Bro 2 weeks ago! Came back last week on Tuesday only. Actually Mummy wanted to go there to eat Sri Lanka crabs cuz she got so sick of queuing the freaking long queue everytime she wanted to eat crabs at the famous Ang Mo Kio Crab place. So she tout she might as well fly there to eat her fill!

Den the best thing is..... WE NEVER SAW A SINGLE SRI LANKA CRAB THROUGHOUT OUR 7DAYS THERE... we only saw plenty of hermit crabs crawling all around the sandy beaches there... win liao lo... -_-
Actually the beaches at Sri Lanka are all so beautiful! The Sri Lankans are all so friendly, warm, helpful and are always smiling at us... hahahahah...

So here are my holiday pictures!!!

Our Not-A-Single-Sri-Lanka-Crab-In-Sight journey started off last Wednesday when we took the evening Cathay Pacific flight. And guess wad... BUSINESS CLASS! hohoho... cheap thrill...
My first Business Class! And more to come please!

The only thing i can rmb during the whole 3.5hours flight was that the stewardess and steward kept feeding me... and I cant even enjoy the comfort of the spacious armchair cuz their personal in-flight entertainment was too distracting and the food just kept coming in. So i was super busy eating and eating and eating and sipping champagne and drinking hot chocolate.

So when we finally reached Sri Lanka, it was already dark. We travelled by coach to our hotel straight after that.

The next day, we went to visit the elephants orphanage. There were so many elephants bathing, eating, peeing and shiiiting altogether in the same river... and you wun know who is bathing or drinking the river water downstream.... eeeeuuuuuu~
Orphan elephants got along well with each other!
They're really cute! But the river's really gross...
We stopped by many many fruits stalls along the road throughout the whole journey too. And i drank coconut water EVERYDAY... in fact, the only $$ i spent were on coconuts only. Hahaha!
They have many different species of banana in the whole country. And i nv ate so many bananas in my whole life.

Oh, did i mention i only changed S$15 to spend there? hahahaha! in the end i came back SG with S$12! Hahahahah! Means the whole trip i only spent S$3. OMFG.... super saver sia!

Had lunch at some nice nice place... which i cant rmb... hrmm...

After lunch, we started to go uphills to the mountains for tmr's itinerary at the tea plantation. Now i know all the English Tea, ie Lipton Tea are all from Sri Lanka's mountain!

The coach ride took forever... i hate to sit long rides... made me coach-sick... urghh~

There were many waterfalls along the way, and this was one of the more magnificant ones.

The weather was super chilling on the mountains. Not exactly cold, just cooling and colder when night falls. And there were nothing to do at night cuz I dun really think there's night life at Sri Lanka... and even if there were, i sure do not want to join them. ahhahaha!

We changed hotel everyday, and since my Mummy, Alfin and I shared a room, we took the Deluxe room and suite everynight! Spacious!

My Mummy's and my 4-poster bed!

We had our own tv-lounge in the room!

The third day, we visited tea plantations and i drank and smelt so much tea the whole day. Nothing really interesting i should say. I think the tea bags they sell in NTUC are cheaper than those they sold in the shops at the tea plantations...

So anyway, lunch was served at a nice place on the mountains with superb view!

Everyone was so relaxed!

Please pardon my untidy hair. I forgot to bring a comb there and FREAKING HELL ALL THE BLOODY HOTELS DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A SINGLE COMB!!! Den Alfin and i realised that maybe the Sri Lankans (and Indians) DOESN'T comb their hair cuz they only pour coconut oil on it... -_-

Make-up-less for the whole week! So happy! So carefree!

After lunch was more travelling, a few hours on the coach to go to our next destination. On the were more pretty waterfalls!

Pretty!

View from the bottom of the waterfall...

We reached Yala National Park in the late afternoon and joined the Safari Tour! The Yala National Park housed many wild animals, including elephants, leopards, monkeys, alot different colourful birds, deers, buffaloes, etc...

Entrance of the Yala National Park.

Our jeep we took to tour around the Safari Park!

It was pretty exciting initially cuz we had such close encounters with the wildlife! Den I din expect the ride to take 3hours, so by that time my attention span already expired. And i was pretty bored by then... and the jeep was so bumpy, my asssss hurts...

Anyway here are some of the pictures of the animals when i was still excited and hyped over the experience.

Buffaloes and many grass-eating animals lined the bumpy roads for sua-gus Singaporean to "woooo" and "ahhhh" over...

I find the family of monkeys very cute as they rest on the tree top. Hehe!

And i was too slow to whipped out my camera so only managed to take the picture of the elephant's huge ass...

We also went past this bungalow in the Safari which was damaged by the tsunami and killed a few tourists and locals there. So poor thing... Then the Safari guide told us no animals were hurt during the tsunami cuz they all "smelt" the sea and ran to safer grounds! So clever hor!

Damaged by the tsunami.

By the time we finished the Safari Tour, it was already nightfall. Our hotel was resort style and just next to the Safari only. And there were no gates or fence or whatsoever, so the animals were free to roam around us. *shudders*

Our resort style deluxe room!

I dun like bathrooms without bathtub. But this one was good!

By nightfall, it was pitch dark outside, we couldn't see a single thing. Den while we were enjoying the nature and breeze on our balcony, we heard footsteps... turned out to be a huge elephant and a wild boar walking just outside our hut! Super scary... I was shouting (as usual) in alarm when a park ranger came to our rescue. He told us to keep quiet cuz elephants doesn't like noise... and we risk the risk of being stomped on... -_- In the end the elephant walked away la... hahaha!

The next morning, when we could finally see our surroundings, Mummy and Alfin took a pix with our stand-alone-hut! Yep, we were sitting outside when the elephant came for a visit.

Saw this huge ants nest next to our hut too... gosh, i din know i was sleeping with so many creepy crawlies!

And not to mention all the poo i was smelling throughout the whole night... -_-

Eeyer, and also with these animals...

Saw the resort's house dog with her 2 puppies!!! So cute!

View from our breakfast place at the resort.

Wah, our hut's next to the drinking water hole only... scary...

So after a hearty breakfast, we left for the next destination!

On our way back to Colombo, we stopped by many beautiful beaches to chillex. The Indian Ocean is really so magnificent and beautiful and clean and clear!

Alfin swinging on a hammock and eating a cookie.

There were fishermen fishing too, and the rod they used was so old-school. Was just a fishing-line on a bamboo ok! Reminded me of my prawn-fishing in Bishan. Haha!

The fisherman's catch!

As usual, i ordered my King Coconut everyday. Fresh from the tree some more!

Chillex by the Indian Ocean!

Next, we headed for sight-seeing. We saw many churches built by the British, Greece and Portuguese. There are many temples and other worship places too. In fact about 80% of the Sri Lankans are Buddhists! Thats alot right!

A church built by the British long time ago.

Giant buddhist sculpture along the way.

And Hindu Temples which are the SAME as those along Serangoon Road. Haha!

We headed to our hotel after that!

We stayed at this resort hotel that was affected by the tsunami that time. But luckily no one was killed. Only that the hotel needed to re-paint and stuff... Unfortunately, in that town itself, a total of about 15,000 ppl were killed. So actually i was pretty scared the whole night.

Morning view from my room. Woahhh~

On our way to the restuarant for breakfast, i couldn't resist the beautiful and clear Indian Ocean again... I could see everything in the water!!! Should have gone for snockling!

Trying to eat a seaweed.

I was stepping on a huge lump of corals and seaweed!

I love the waves!

Just look at the view... wooooo~

On our way to Colombo, we also visited the Turtle Hatchary. It was informative and interested. And of the 8 species of turtles, 5 lived in harmony in the Indian Ocean. Nice.

They let me and my Mummy carry the turtles!

Omg, just look at the one-day-old baby turtles!

After that, we reached Colombo and did a lil shopping. We reached the airport at 8pm local time. Our flight was 12am but they needed us to check-in 4hours before the flight. I was super bored in the airport la...

Took the flight back and reached SG at 635am! BenBen gave me surprise by turning up in the airport!!!! So sweeet of him... Thanks Baby! =)

We went back home and poor Schnauzer missed us (or so i imagined) like hell...

It was a great experience in Sri Lanka! Initially, i was super against the idea of going there, but den, it turned out to be better than expected! Seriously, there were no weird smell (can you believe it, i even bought a face mask) and everyone's really super duper friendly and helpful there! Its definitely a good place to get-away and the Indian Ocean and the beaches are god-d*m PRETTY. I'd choose Sri Lanka over China anytime. At least unlike China, i couldn't find a single man who smokes in Sri Lanka and no one shouts like how the China ppl shouts. No pushing too, all very polite. And you also wun spend $$ there. Hahah! Budget place wor! Keke, thanks Mummy for sponsering moi! MuacKz!~
